Auggie Velarde doesn’t follow the rules—he rewrites them. The Peruvian-born, US-based artist fuses culture, tech, and emotion into a sound all his own. His latest track “Torment Tropical” blends bachata roots with modern production—and it hits deep.
We’re excited to feature Auggie Velarde, a Peruvian-born, U.S.-based artist who’s pushing boundaries and blending genres in ways that feel fresh, raw, and real.
Auggie is a self-taught producer, bilingual lyricist, and all-around creative who goes by the alias “Hacker.” He’s not following trends—he’s building his own lane. His music lives at the intersection of identity, tech, and emotion. And he’s not afraid to get personal.
As a first-gen immigrant, Auggie’s story is complex—and it shows up in his sound. He blends Latin roots, experimental production, and emotional storytelling into tracks that hit just as hard on headphones as they do live.
His newest release, “Torment Tropical” (Tropical Storm), is a bachata-inspired track that’s short, sweet, and full of feeling. Spanish lyrics, traditional percussion, modern production. Even if you don’t speak the language, you’ll feel the storm.
This one’s for anyone who’s ever been caught in the chaos of a relationship and couldn’t quite let go.
You can now join Auggie’s community on Groupii for direct updates, exclusive content, and bonus drops before they go live anywhere else.
